Genesis 2:1-3
BSB
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
2 And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.
BSB
You love God when you keep the Sabbath holy.
The Sabbath is a principle of Heaven.

It is the same principle as tithing or paying taxes. Jesus in Matthew 22:21 says give to Cesar what is Cesar and God what is God's.
What is the law of the Sabbath?
Exodus 20:8-11
BSB
8 Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant or livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates.
11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
BSB
It is saying: I will not forget My promise to you.
Leadership Standard:Sabbath

We are committed to honor the Sabbath. We set apart one day a week and keep it holy unto the Lord. The Sabbath was made for us to rest, heal and hear God.
Hebrews 4:9, Exodus 20:8, Isaiah 56:2, Ezekiel 20:12, Mark 3:1-6
Why we do not Sabbath?
1. We do not think it’s necessary.
2. We do not have enough time.
Prioritize the things of God and watch how He will bring order to your life.
3. We simply do not know to.
How to Sabbath?
Ask God and Invite Him.
Do Not Work.
Prepare.
Mark 2:27
BSB
27 Then Jesus declared, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

What Jesus Taught About the Sabbath
*Rest and Renewal
The Sabbath provides a necessary pause from the constant activity of work and daily pursuits, allowing for physical and mental rest and rejuvenation.

*Spiritual Connection
Beyond physical rest, the Sabbath offers a chance to connect with God, reflect on spiritual matters, and grow closer to the Divine.

*It is Divine Gift
The Sabbath is presented as a gift from God, originating even before the creation of the Jewish people, as shown in the Genesis creation narrative.

*It is Not a Burden
The core idea is that the Sabbath should be a positive experience, a "delight" and a blessing, rather than a heavy or restrictive burden.
Matthew 18:21-22
BSB
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times, but seventy-seven times!
BSB
II Chronicles 36:20-21
BSB
20 Those who escaped the sword were carried by Nebuchadnezzar into exile in Babylon, and they became servants to him and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power.
21 So the land enjoyed its Sabbath rest all the days of the desolation, until seventy years were completed, in fulfillment of the word of the LORD through Jeremiah.
BSB
Leviticus 25:1-5
BSB
1 Then the LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai,
2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land that I am giving you, the land itself must observe a Sabbath to the LORD.
3 For six years you may sow your field and prune your vineyard and gather its crops.
4 But in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for the land—a Sabbath to the LORD. You are not to sow your field or prune your vineyard.
5 You are not to reap the aftergrowth of your harvest or gather the grapes of your untended vines. The land must have a year of complete rest.
BSB
WARNING: What you do not steward, you will be removed from.

Our ability to Sabbath will be the gauge on how much blessing we will be able to sustain.
I Timothy 1:6-7
BSB
6 Some have strayed from these ways and turned aside to empty talk.
7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or that which they so confidently assert.
BSB
Tamim (490) = Perfect, Complete, finished.
Bethlehem = House of Bread Nativity.
How do we know when we Sabbath?

When there is rest, healing and hearing God.
CAUTION:If you have a Sabbath problem, you may have a forgiveness problem.
Hebrews 4:11
BSB
11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.
BSB
I Peter 5:8
BSB
8 Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
BSB
Rest only comes through Sabbath and forgiveness through Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30
BSB
28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
BSB
Matthew 10:28
BSB
28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
BSB
What the SABBATH is to your body, FORGIVENESS is to your soul.
