1 Corinthians 14:1-4
New International Version
14 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.
New International Version
Acts 2:6-12
New International Version
When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

Practical Advice

Parents you should foster environments for your children to encounter the Holy Spirit, and lead then in that space.

— If you are having trouble with your children, getting them to encounter God is a cheat code.

Intrusive thoughts are a  strategy to keep you bound and bring resistance to your walk with The Lord.
Code: They are not your thoughts.

They are thoughts from demons trying to attack your mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

What does the Holy Spirit do?

The Holy Spirit gives us power - Acts 1:8

  • Boldness to witness
  • Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinth 12)
  • Power to Overcome Sin
Acts 1:8
New International Version
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
New International Version

Holy Spirit is our teacher.
1 John 2:27

1 John 2:27
New Revised Standard Version
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
New Revised Standard Version
STOP chasing false “profits”.
Helper
Jesus called him the Helper, or Paraclete, a “divine helper” (husband and wife can be a picture of strong support).
John 14:25-27
New International Version
“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
New International Version
The Holy Spirit helps us pray and also he actually intercedes for us.
Romans 8:26-27
Amplified Bible
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

How do you walk in the Spirit

Genesis 3:8-10
New International Version
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
New International Version
Galatians 5:16-18
Amplified Bible
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

“Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.””

Live in the place of prayer and you will walk in the spirit.
Matthew 26:36-46
New International Version
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”

Practical Advice:  When you go to God just take YOU. No need for religious protocol. Take your thoughts, concerns, fear.

The garden is a place of rightful authority.
Its a place of relationship
its a place of anointing

You can either live in the Garden of Gethsemane or live in the temple of Sceva.
Acts 19:11-20
New International Version
God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.
New International Version
The Lord can either use you or he can use you as an object lesson, by making an example of you.

Seven Signs You Are a Son of Sceva (Fake Christian)

  1. Sons of Sceva have a form of righteousness but no power.
  2. Sons of Sceva can clap, shout, and sing but never change.
  3. Sons of Sceva post Bible verses on social media but treat them like suggestions in real life.
  4. Sons of Sceva claim they are “blessed & highly favored of the Lord” while flat-out ignoring His commands.
  5. Sons of Sceva throw shade at the ones who actually live holy.
  6. Sons of Sceva have all the outer appearances of a Christian, but do not bear the inward fruit of the Spirit.
  7. Sons of Sceva get exposed and scream “Don’t Judge Me!” instead of “Lord, help me!”

Those of us that are Sons of God, here’s what we’ll do.
