Reconciliation begins with God
God reconciles people to Himself and entrusts them with reconciliation. Peacemaking grows from receiving His peace. Read Matthew 5:9 and 2 Corinthians 5:17–20.
Why conflict needs attention
Human differences, imperfection, selfishness, and pride make conflict unavoidable. Unresolved conflict damages fellowship, prayer, and joy. Biblical peacemaking requires courage, wisdom, love, and humility.
Take the first step
Initiate contact; seek God’s wisdom; acknowledge your contribution; listen to the other person’s hurt; speak lovingly; address the problem without assigning blame; pursue reconciliation.
Move toward people
Fear can produce distance, defensiveness, or demands. Avoiding disagreement creates superficial harmony; peacemaking approaches broken relationships with truth and care.
Practice peace together
Resist attacks, gossip, manipulation, and emotional walls. In marriage, pursue repair instead of winning; in families, address wounds; in churches, reject division; in society, bring truth and love together.
