Justice Run is coming to Austin on November 1!

We run because every step has a purpose. Sex trafficking is a billion-dollar industry that preys on the vulnerable, but together we can push back against it. When we lace up our shoes and hit the pavement, we’re not just running for ourselves—we’re running for women who deserve freedom, safety, and a future filled with hope. Every mile we cover helps raise awareness and funds to support women breaking free from trafficking.

Join us, and let’s run with purpose, run with passion, and run for freedom!

1 Samuel 5:1-5
BSB
1 After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod,
2 carried it into the temple of Dagon, and set it beside his statue.
3 When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.
4 But when they got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD, with his head and his hands broken off and lying on the threshold. Only the torso remained.
5 That is why, to this day, the priests of Dagon and all who enter the temple of Dagon in Ashdod do not step on the threshold.
BSB
You radically love God by putting no other gods before Him.
Exodus 20:3
BSB
3 You shall have no other gods before Me.
BSB
To put no other gods before Him is simply this: God comes first

To put no other gods before Him is when nothing competes with your love for God!
The word before is the Hebrew word ‘Panim’, which means face, presence, or in front of
In this commandment, God isn’t denying the existence of other spirits that desire to be god, but instead is saying He is the only one worthy of worship.
Genesis 32:30
BSB
30 So Jacob named the place Peniel, saying, “Indeed, I have seen God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
BSB
Exodus 33:11
BSB
11 Thus the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun would not leave the tent.
BSB
When God says you shall have no other god before Him, He is not saying that He needs to be put first in some sort of priority list of things you worship in your life; He is saying that this relationship is exclusive and no other god is welcome in your life.
It would be accurate to say that this Commandment means “You shall have no other gods in my face/in my Presence”
God doesn’t want to be first, He wants to be Everything!
Exodus 34:14
BSB
14 For you must not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
BSB
This verse says His name is Jealous, jealousy is who He is!
He isn’t jealous of you, He is jealous FOR you!
This is a Holy Jealousy.

God is jealous for you, He is jealous for Austin!
He wants no other gods before Him because He wants no other gods between us and Him!
This is the first commandment because it is the cornerstone for the other nine.
Exodus 32:1
BSB
1 Now when the people saw that Moses was delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!”
BSB
They wanted Aaron to make another god they could be intimate with, that they could be in the presence and face of, all while God is telling Moses that they shall put no other Gods before Him.

Caution: Don’t celebrate false gods
In a world that talks so much about inclusivity, God commands exclusivity
Not only has God conquered death, but He has also conquered every false god.
Exodus 12:12
BSB
12 On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn male, both man and beast, and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
BSB
God executed judgment on every god of Egypt!

Every single one of the plagues was a direct attack on their gods.
1. Water to blood (The Nile)
-The Egyptian god Hapi was god of the Nile and fertility
-Egyptians believed the Nile River was the bloodstream of Osiris
2. Frogs
-The Egyptian god Heqet has a frog head
3. Gnats and Lice
-Targeted the agricultural god, Geb
4. Flies
-The Egyptian god Khepri has the head of a fly or scarab
5. Death of livestock
-Apis was a bull god and the god of livestock
6. Boils
-Imhotep was the Egyptian god of medicine. Even the magicians of Egypt had the boils signaling the powerlessness of their gods to heal
7. Hail
-Nut and Shu were the gods of the air and sky
8. Locusts
-Nepri was the Egyptian god of grain

9. Darkness
-Ra was the Egyptian sun god
10. Death of the firstborn
-The death of the Pharaoh's heir was the final blow to gods of Egypt, as they worshipped him as divine.
-Not only the Pharaoh's heir, but this proved that the Pharaoh and gods of
Egypt could not protect the Egyptian people in their own homes and were powerless.
The plagues were not just random acts to convince the Pharaoh to let the Israelites go, it was a showdown between the Living God and every god in Egypt.
1 Kings 18:39
BSB
39 When all the people saw this, they fell facedown and said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!”
BSB
Ephesians 6:12
BSB
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
BSB
It is time that we reform our understanding of God being soft.
If God becomes a pushover, so do you.

God isn’t a pushover, and neither are we; we are warriors.
In the same way God defeated the other false gods, He is dismantling the false gods of Austin!
Lou Engle prophesied that Austin is the showdown of Elijah and Jezebel in the nation.
Colossians 2:15
BSB
15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
BSB
Practical Advice: Be aware that when you exalt God, you wage spiritual warfare.
When something captivates our attention, receives our affection, and determines our direction, it has become a god.
False gods of today:
1. Culture
Be aware that the god of culture will tell you that you don’t have to look like culture, you just have to believe it.

If you hear the voice of the culture in your head like you do the Holy Spirit you may be
entertaining a false god.
Caution: When the word of Culture carries more weight than the Word of God you have a false god in your life.
False gods of today:

your life.
False gods of today:
1. Culture
2. Comfort
3. Self
The worship of self is when we become god in our own eyes
How do you know if you have a false god of self?
●You follow your heart
●You want the glory

1. Culture
2. Comfort

Matthew 6:24
BSB
24 No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
BSB
Signs money is a false god in your life:

●If money determines your obedience
●If money determines your joy, and not God
●If money defines your worth
●If money dominates your thoughts
Every false god will demand your worship.
Matthew 4:8-10
BSB
8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 “All this I will give You,” he said, “if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 “Away from Me, Satan!” Jesus declared. “For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ ”
BSB
Warning: If Jesus was tempted to break the first commandment, you will be too!
What do you do if you have a false god in your life?
●You identify the false gods you have put before God
Practical Advice: Ask God to show you any gods you have put before Him
What do you do if you have a false god in your life?
●You repent for putting something before Him
What do you do if you have a false god in your life?
●You love the Lord with all of your heart, all of your soul, and all of your mind

BSB
God waged war against Dagon in his own temple and won.
We’ve been sold a lie that we can bring God into the presence of our false gods, our idols, and that God is okay with this.
what is your Dagon?
Warning: Don’t ask God to show you His face if you bring other gods in His face
You radically love God by putting no other gods before Him.
