Focusing : Knowing your identity your identity and your purpose

Isaiah 50:11
But now, all you who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go, walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment.

This year our focus is our light with in the fire within … is it still burning ? Is it even lit ?
Genesis 1:24-31
New International Version
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
New International Version
What is the importance of knowing your identity?

Knowing your identity propels you to know your purpose. As you discover your purpose: in various seasons you will walk out your assignment.

When you understand your assignment: why you’re here and live a purposeful life, by walking out all that God have called you to be, you become a target for the enemy.
Lets Define Identity?

the fact of being who or what a person or thing is.
the characteristics of determining who or what a person or thing is.

Origin : Latin: Idem or late Latin: Identitias

french: identity: quality of being identical

The image of looking like someone or something.

Everything have an origin- your identity is tied into your creator and your creator - Our creator is God- and He had a plan and a purpose for which you were created.

Everything under the sun have a purpose and nothing is purposeless!

The devil loves for us to live a life of mediocre.
A life where you’re lost and constantly searching and longing, you’re left alone to wonder.

However, it all starts with getting to know the creator !

Once you make Jesus the Lord and savior of life and begin to walk out your God given purpose the enemy becomes uncomfortable.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Cortintians 5:7
New International Version
2 Cortintians 5:7

[Scripture text will be loaded when online]
New International Version
After you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior
the first step will be to constantly seek the father and cultivate a life of devotion and constant communion.

Matthew 6:33
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

To identify our identity we need to ask ourselves a few questions?

  1. WHO AM I? IDENTITY
  2. WHERE AM I FROM? HERITAGE
  3. WHY AM I HERE? PURPOSE
  4. WHAT CAN I DO? POTENTIAL
  5. WHERE AM I GOING? DESTINY
Once we discover the core exsistance of
  • who we are?
  • where were from?
  • why are we here
  • what we can do ?
  • where were going ?
We’re  able to live a meaningful life and walk out all that God have created us to do.

God says your plans for life, your ideas, your dreams, desired career, your business, what
you want to study in college should come after discovering His purpose for your life.

God is therefore only concerned with your purpose and not your plans.

WHAT IS PURPOSE?
PURPOSE IS:
1. The original intent for a thing.
2. The reason why a thing was made.
3. The cause for creation.

The purpose is the reason why a thing exist, it's the desired result for a thing, it's the source of
DESTINY.

The intent of God is the will of God. God is pleased when you discover your purpose for life and get busy doing it.

God is only committed to His purpose and not your plans.
Whatever God calls for, He provides for. Whatever you were born to do, is already paid for.
Jeremiah 1:5
New International Version
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
New International Version
Jeremiah 29:11
New International Version
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
New International Version

God's greatest desire is for you to discover your purpose for life.
Proverbs 19:21
New International Version
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord ’s purpose that prevails.
New International Version

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
FINDING GOD'S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE EQUALS FINDING PEACE AND PROSPERITY.
THE GOAL OF LIFE IS NOT TO BECOME RICH BUT TO BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR CALLING.
A SUCCESSFUL MAN IS NOT A RICH MAN; A SUCCESSFUL MAN IS A
FINISHED/FULFILLED MAN.

Wealth will surely come your way when you pursue the project of God for your life hence your
money should be used to finance God's project in your life.
Until you find why God made you, you'll never have meaning in life. PURPOSE IS YOUR
LIFE.
Ephesians 1:3
New International Version
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
New International Version
The Father has already blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the Heavenly places"

The only issue here is that it is trapped in the unseen realm.
Whatsoever you need to succeed has already been made available. Our spiritual blessings in
the Heavenly places will only come when it sees the reason why it exists; It exists because God
chose you!

Purpose Attracts Provision!!!
When you look into what you're born to do, God releases the required resources you need to do
it. If you discover the assignment of why God chose you, then everything you need will surely
find you. Your provision comes when you discover your assignment.

What you're born to do will attract what has been hiding from you. Your purpose is the key to
the wealth of your country.

Your past, present doesn't depict your figure. You don't need to leave your country to find God's
will for your life nor to finance it. There is a reason why He's placed you in that Nation.
You don't need to leave home to change the world, when you find your purpose, the World will
come to you.
DO YOU ATTRACT WHAT'TRAPPED IN THE UNSEEN REALM?
  1. You've got to obey God. You've got to understand that the work God has given to you is a baby(Pregnancy) and you're a virgin because you have never done it before. You therefore need His leading and guidance.
  2. You have to involve the Spirit of God(Holy Spirit), God will never give you an assignment that does not involve Him. For if you can succeed in what you're doing without God, then it's not a godly thing.
  3. You need to be around people who will make your baby leap(Mary and Elizabeth). Don't keep company with barren people who are trying to talk you out of your dream.
"Show me your friends and I'll tell you your future"
Choose people who'll help you get to where God wants you to be.

 Keep company with people
with vision, people who are also carrying a dream.
Make a choice to be purpose-driven today
Once we discover our personalized purpose tailored to our unique DNA and fingerprint, we then begin to walk out our purpose.

What is our generized assignment?
- [ ] Matthew 28:19 is our first assignment: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬.

This is our assignment from the time we began to know ourselves. We should start doing this even as a child; our parents be should doing this and empower us to start doing this as well.

If nothing else as an adult (18 years of age), we should be going out there and making disciples at our jobs, social gatherings, etc just anywhere we find ourselves.

Let our lives bear fruit even if we don’t physically share about Jesus, our lifestyle should lead others to Christ.
2.  Getting married: this is one of our life purposes and an assignment- God ordained it. This is why in the garden he created man and woman, and bless them.

3.  Next assignment is to be fruitful and multiply. We take this assignment for granted these days.

However, to fulfill this assignment well, you first have to get married, then you have blessed fruits: be fruitful and multiply.

Having children outside of wedlock doesn’t mean they’re not blessed but it leaves them in a vulnerable state of life: outside of the confines of marriage leaves an open door for their lives to be legally attacked.

Within the confines of marriage creates a healthy structure: having both parents and a covering spiritually for your children.

To God, this verse means 3 things:
  1. Purpose is more important than plans
  2. Purpose is more powerful than plans
  3. Purpose precedes plans.
