Cards

Short answer: make a short page each Sunday with the Bible story, the memory verse, two or three questions and one simple activity. Text the link to parents and put a QR code at kids check-in.

Most kids ministry papers end up in the car or the trash. A page on a parent's phone is there when the family sits down for dinner.

What to include

  1. The Bible story in three or four sentences.
  2. The memory verse, written out.
  3. Two or three questions for the car ride or the dinner table.
  4. One simple activity or prayer for the week.

Write for busy parents

  • Short sentences.
  • Questions a five-year-old can answer: Who did Jesus help today?
  • No jargon from the classroom.

Build it in Epyst

  1. Create a deck named with the lesson title and date.
  2. Add a text card for the story and a Scripture card for the memory verse.
  3. Add one card with the questions.
  4. Publish and send the link to parents by text.
  5. Put the QR code at check-in for parents who pick up.

Keep it safe

Do not post children's names or photos without written permission from parents. A take-home page does not need them. Making and sharing decks is free, so you can make your first deck free.

Common questions

What should a kids take-home page include?

The Bible story, the memory verse, two or three questions for the car ride or dinner, and one simple activity.

Should we post photos of children?

Only with written permission from parents, and never with names. Many churches leave photos out of take-home pages.

How do parents find it each week?

Send the same kind of link every Sunday by text, and put a QR code at the kids check-in desk.
