We run because every step has a purpose. Sex trafficking is a billion-dollar industry that preys on the vulnerable, but together we can push back against it. When we lace up our shoes and hit the pavement, we’re not just running for ourselves—we’re running for women who deserve freedom, safety, and a future filled with hope. Every mile we cover helps raise awareness and funds to support women breaking free from trafficking.

Join us, and let’s run with purpose, run with passion, and run for freedom!

Genesis 9:20-27
BSB
20 Now Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21 But when he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and uncovered himself inside his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside.
23 Then Shem and Japheth took a garment and placed it across their shoulders, and walking backward, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness.
24 When Noah awoke from his drunkenness and learned what his youngest son had done to him,
25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan! A servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.”
26 He also declared: “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the servant of Shem.
27 May God expand the territory of Japheth; may he dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.”

John 14:15
BSB
15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
BSB
The Greatest Commandment is the key to keeping all Ten—and that’s Radical Love!
Exodus 20:12
BSB
12 Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
BSB
Deuteronomy 5:16
BSB
16 Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
BSB
Caution:
Just because people lie with confidence doesn’t make it true!
“The home is the first place where love and respect are learned, beginning with honoring father and mother.” - Billy Graham
Proverbs 1:8-9
BSB
8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.
9 For they are a garland of grace on your head and a pendant around your neck.
BSB
Ephesians 6:2-3
BSB
2 “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise),

BSB
Mark 7:10-13
BSB
10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
11 But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God),
12 he is no longer permitted to do anything for his father or mother.
13 Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
BSB
1 Timothy 5:8
BSB
8 If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
BSB
Question:
What religious loophole have you created to justify dishonoring your parents?
The Bible never permits dishonor toward your parents.
Hebrew: כָּבֵד (Kabed) = Heavy; weighty; honored; giving proper value.
Greek: τιμή (Timē) = Properly assign value (give honor).
Honor Simplified = To assign Heaven’s value
Mercy Culture Value | Honor
GOVERNED BY HONOR
Honor reflects Heaven’s value. Honor protects freedom, creates safe places and reflects a Kingdom identity. Honor is about self-control not control.
1 Samuel 2:30, Romans 12:10, 1 Peter 2:17, Matthew 4:1-11, Isaiah 29:13, Mark 6:1-6, Proverbs 3:9-10
The enemy of honor is dishonor!

Honor partners with the Holy Spirit.
Dishonor partners with the demonic.
Rebellion = Rejecting God’s order and authority.
Hebrew: מְרִי (Meri) = Resistance; stubbornness; revolt against God or His authority.
Greek: Ἀνομία (Anomia) = Lawlessness; rejecting God’s law.
1 Samuel 15:23
BSB
23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”
BSB
Proverbs 17:11
BSB
11 An evil man seeks only rebellion; a cruel messenger will be sent against him.
BSB
Warning:
Rebellion is witchcraft and opens the door to demons!
Rebellion against God in you will produce rebellion against you in your children.
Proverbs 22:15
BSB
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
BSB
Hebrew: אִוֶּלֶת (Ivvelet) = Foolishness; lack of moral sense; waywardness.
Rebellion in you looks the same, just towards God!
3 Principles of Honor in the Family
1. Children need to be taught to obey
Proverbs 22:6
BSB
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
BSB
Caution:
Parents, you are responsible for teaching your children to obey!
If your children don’t obey you, they won't obey God!
Question:
Should I spank my child?
Proverbs 23:13-14
BSB
13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; although you strike him with a rod, he will not die.
14 Strike him with a rod, and you will deliver his soul from Sheol.
BSB
Proverbs 13:24
BSB
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
BSB
Hebrew: שֵׁבֶט (Shebet) = Staff, stick, or scepter.
Psalm 23:4
BSB
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
BSB
The “rod” symbolizes loving authority and corrective guidance—never rage or harm.
Hebrew: שָׂנֵא (Sane) = Despise; reject; withhold love.
Proverbs 13:24
BSB
24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
BSB
Hebrews 12:6
BSB
6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises every son He receives.”
BSB
Greek: παιδεύω (Paideuō) = Discipline; train; instruct.
Hebrews 12:8
BSB
8 If you do not experience discipline like everyone else, then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
BSB
Greek: παραδέχομαι (Paradechomai) = Welcome; accept; receive with favor.
Proverbs 3:11-12
BSB
11 My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke;
12 for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.
BSB
Loving discipline is correction that trains in love.
Practical Advice:

Loving discipline corrects the child’s behavior while keeping the child’s heart.
Practical Advice:

2. Parents need to learn how to lead
Ephesians 6:4
