A Season of Transformation

The past few years have marked a profound transition, moving from a place of striving and doing things my own way to embracing the Lord's path. This journey has involved a deep transformation: physically, spiritually, and emotionally. It's about learning to simply be with the Lord, to be present as His child, and to find unity with Christ.

This transformation begins with the renewing of our minds.

In past seasons, I found myself constantly striving in my career, seeking to land the perfect job, and trying to connect with people. This constant pursuit was exhausting, stressful, and draining in every way.

I was tired of doing my own thing, tired of trying to run. I reached a point where I declared, 'God, I'm not moving if You are not in it.'

This weariness came from seeking belonging and acceptance outside of Him, longing for a place, a home, a connection that I couldn't find on my own.

Romans 12:2
BSB
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
BSB

Coming to the end of myself was the turning point. It required a significant act of letting go:

  • Letting go of certain relationships
  • Letting go of old mindsets and habits
  • Letting go of the need to control outcomes

There was a temptation to rush, to think God was taking too long, but I chose to weather the storm and sit still. This was humbling and scary, but it led to a profound understanding of His promise.

The word of God promises that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He invites us to learn from Him, offering true rest for our souls. This was the peace I found in stillness.

Matthew 11:28-30
BSB
28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
BSB

In that place of stillness, a profound level of healing, love, and sweetness emerged. It was tangible. The Lord whispered, 'You are enough. I love you right here. I see you, and I am so proud of you just for being right here.'

His presence became enough; His love became enough. I felt safe, whole, and experienced the deep peace of God. This was the beginning of a new journey, a new season of simply resting with the Lord.

This is beautifully captured in the scripture, 'Be still and know that I am your God.'

Psalms 46:10
BSB
10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.”
BSB

From this place of rest, God began to lead me specifically. He guided me into real estate and brought peace to challenges within my marriage. Recently, I received a powerful vision during worship: the Lord came, held my hands, and said, 'Rhoda, come on.'

He held my hands, i saw Him in the form of the  the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and we just took off. He said, 'We're going to run at our own pace.' It was beautiful, sweet, and tangible to run hand-in-hand with Him.

This is what the journey has become: holding the Lord's hands and running. I don't always know where we're going, and there isn't always clear direction, but no matter what, I trust Him. We are running, going, and stepping out in ways that make sense and are meaningful, allowing God to lead.

I am grateful and thankful for everything—for how He sees me, loves me, and trusts me, even when I struggle to trust myself. If you learn nothing else from my story, remember this: learn to trust the Lord. He is faithful. He is so good.
