Blessed are the short-winded, for they shall be asked to speak again.

We trust the Lord will minister His word powerfully in the time allotted.

The Gospel's Power: Radically Different Life

Our assignment for this year, 2014, is drawn from Mark 6:12. The disciples preached with joyful urgency that life can be radically different.

Mark 6:12
BSB
12 So they set out and preached that the people should repent.

2014: A Wi-Fi Year for God's People

The Lord declared 2014 would be a year of unprecedented Wisdom, Influence, Favor, and Increase for His people.

2014: A Wi-Fi Year for God's People

2014: A Wi-Fi Year for God's People

Unprecedented Wisdom

God's wisdom empowers us with divine solutions to complex problems, making once-confounding things simple and effortless.

Unprecedented Influence

Operating in divine wisdom will enable us to influence those around us—peers, those under our authority, and even those above us.

Unprecedented Favor

Influence naturally leads to favor, which we define as a divine, assigned advantage for success. It is God's mark of distinction on your life.

Unprecedented Increase

Ultimately, God's favor produces increase. Everything in God's nature is about multiplication and abundance; there is no scarcity in God.

God's Will for Divine Increase

It is God's will that you and I would be above only and not beneath, the head and not the tail, blessed in all we do. We must embrace the whole counsel of God, not just what we prefer to believe.

God's Practical Blueprint for Increase

We often spiritualize increase, but God has a very practical blueprint. The scriptures testify that God has already blessed us with all spiritual blessings and given us everything pertaining to life and godliness.

Ephesians 1:3
BSB
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.
BSB
2 Peter 1:3
BSB
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

Edenomics: God's Original Plan for Man

Our key text is Genesis chapter 1, the book of origins. God's original plan for man is His eternal plan. What we see in Genesis is God's blueprint for every Christ follower.

Genesis 1:27
BSB
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
BSB

God's First Priority: To Bless

After creating man, God's highest priority was to bless them. This means He empowered them to fulfill His instructions even before He gave them.

You are already empowered by God to do whatever He places in your heart to do. All of heaven is on your side.

The Command: Be Fruitful and Multiply

After blessing, God instructed: "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it." This is a season for God to usher His people into dominion, which is deliberate and intentional.

The Edenomics Equation: Productivity + Profitability = Power

God is a God of process and order. His blueprint for dominion involves this equation:

  • Productivity: Bearing fruit.
  • Profitability: Maximizing what you have.
  • Power: Exercising dominion and influence.

Step 1: Be Productive

Jesus said, "Apart from Me, you can do nothing and bear no fruit." Our Wi-Fi must be enabled; we must be connected to God to be productive and bear fruit that remains.

John 15:5
BSB
5 I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.
BSB

Discover and Develop Your Seed

Your increase is connected to a seed God has deposited in you. This seed must be:

  • Discovered: Recognize what God has planted in you.
  • Developed: Optimize and maximize its potential.
  • Deployed: Use it effectively for maximum return.
What you have is underdeveloped, and because it's underdeveloped, you are undercompensated for the gift God gave you.

Step 2: Multiply & Be Profitable

God expects a return on what He has given you. The kingdom of heaven is like the parable of the talents, where the unproductive servant loses even what he had.

Matthew 25:14-30
BSB
14 For it is just like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted them with his possessions.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two talents, and to another one talent—each according to his own ability. And he went on his journey.
16 The servant who had received the five talents went at once and put them to work and gained five more.
17 Likewise, the one with the two talents gained two more.
18 But the servant who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.
19 After a long time the master of those servants returned to settle accounts with them.
20 The servant who had received the five talents came and presented five more. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’
21 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
22 The servant who had received the two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents. See, I have gained two more.’
23 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
24 Finally, the servant who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what belongs to you.’
26 ‘You wicked, lazy servant!’ replied his master. ‘You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed.
27 Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received it back with interest.
28 Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.
29 For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
30 And throw that worthless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
BSB

Exchange What You Have

To be profitable, you must be willing to trade. You have something valuable that someone else needs. An underdeveloped gift cannot be exchanged for something more.

Step 3: Profitability Produces Power and Influence

When you are productive and profitable, you gain influence. Decision-makers follow those with power and influence. The church must position itself to be a significant voice.

Productivity and Profit are Connected

Proverbs 14:23 states, "In all labor there is profit." Your productivity, your output, has a direct relationship to your outcomes and profitability.

Proverbs 14:23
BSB
23 There is profit in all labor, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
BSB

Daniel: A Kingdom Man of Influence

Daniel prospered across three ungodly administrations for over 60 years because he distinguished himself. He was irreplaceable due to his exceptional productivity.

Daniel 6:1-3
BSB
1 Now it pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
2 and over them three administrators, including Daniel, to whom these satraps were accountable so that the king would not suffer loss.
3 Soon, by his extraordinary spirit, Daniel distinguished himself among the administrators and satraps. So the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
BSB

Distinguished Productivity Leads to Dominion

Daniel was one of three governors appointed over 120 satraps to ensure the king suffered no loss. Our attitude toward our work must be to be problem solvers and ensure maximum return, not just a paycheck.
